What's checked
PAN must be five letters, four digits and a letter — and the fourth letter encodes the holder type (P for individual, C for company, F for firm, and so on). Aadhaar is twelve digits validated with the Verhoeff checksum the UIDAI uses. IFSC is four letters, a 0, then six characters. Voter ID (EPIC) is three letters and seven digits.
Note: a valid format means the number is well-formed, not that it's real or active — only the issuing authority can confirm that.
