Add GST to a base price or strip GST out of a gross amount, with the CGST/SGST breakdown.
Adding vs removing GST
“Add GST” starts from a base (pre-tax) price and adds the tax on top — useful when you're quoting or invoicing. “Remove GST” works backwards from a gross (tax-inclusive) figure to find the base price and the tax already inside it — useful when a price is shown “inclusive of all taxes”.
CGST and SGST
For sales within the same state, GST splits equally into CGST (central) and SGST (state) — so 18% becomes 9% + 9%. For inter-state sales it's a single IGST at the full rate instead.
